Despacito is a hit song from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. It became the number streaming music of that moment within a period of six months. It was a combination of pop and reggaeton that has not only attracted new attention to reggaeton but also more interest in Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016, as opposed to two in 2015. The Despacito song was at its peak popularity in 2017, 19 mostly Spanish songs made it onto the Top 100 as well, and by 2020 there were 41 songs. Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito came out in the year 2017. After that, well-known artists began working with reggaeton artists. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna was a part of Maluma for Medellin. Some reggaeton artists were unhappy about the trend toward popular music by 2020. However, a brand new group, Rauw alejandro, was looking to change things up. He often used elements of electronic dance music along with other styles.
